Report 3, Annex 9. Impact Loading of Adhesive Joints
This report provides preliminary results from a range of tests on adhesive joints, the tests being performed at high rates of loading. Four adhesives have been tested: a one-part rubber toughened epoxy adhesive, AV119 (Araldite 2007) from Ciba (now Vantico); a two-part acrylic adhesive, F241 from Permabond; an epoxy, ESP110 from Permabond and a development adhesive XB5315. The test geometries and load rates used were the impact wedge peel, 2m/s, block shear, 4.2m/s, three point bend, 0.5m/s and tapered double cantilever beam (TDCB), 0.5m/s.
