Report 5. Correlation of Modulus Measurements on Adhesives Using Dynamic Mechanical and Constant Strain Rate Tests.

This report provides details of methods for transforming results of modulus measurements obtained using dynamic mechanical methods to values obtained from tests carried out under constant strain rate. The report highlights the potential difficulties inherent in the two methods. Transformation methods based on the Williams-Landel-Ferry (WLF) and Arrhenius functions are described. Test measurements, to illustrate the transformation processes, are used on two adhesives, a two-part epoxy, TE251 from Evode and a two-part polyurethane, Scotchweld 3532 from 3M.
